disappearing act again

OK it's has been a  while since I last posted anything, spring has come and nearly gone!

Spring was here!

But I have been busy, the UFO pile has not got any smaller (it might of got a bit bigger on the quiet) but I'm not looking. On the good news front my yarn stash has not got any bigger (hooray!) But my fabric stash has got a lot bigger (Oh no!!!) But I'll talk about that in another post.

Well what has happening then? The last time I posted (end of January) I had just gone to pants, well made a pair of knickers with a few flaws, but never mind and knitting another scarf using a pompom yarn of which I have decided that "I NEVER EVER" want to knit with that type of yarn again!!!!

The finished object

Why? It made my arms and shoulders ache, because I couldn't relax while knitting with this yarn, so never again. February was a bit of a funny month, first my husband was off for the first two weeks, then it was half term and the house desended into chaos with the girls off. But I did manged to do some knitting

Start of a hat

a hat, of which I have finished but I haven't got any more pictures of it for some strange reason, must on my phone. Also we manged a day trip to Liverpool on one of the wettest days of week!! And did some baking with the girls and a trip to Chester on another very wet a day,  but it wasn't a bad day out because my husband bought me my birthday present, which is a camera of my own at last so I don't have to rely on him to take photos for me with his camera or have to use my phone or tablet for photos.

Baking with the girls

Lets move onto March, my husband was off again for the first two weeks, but decided to do a disappearing act for three days, he decided that he needed some man time away from me and the girls, so while he was away I decided to start some more crochet to make a throw for the girl's room.

Start of something big?

But it didn't work out that way, as usual, I ran out of the light aqua yarn and the other light aqua I had got in my stash was a different dye lot and it was too obvious that it was different dye lot so it ended at cushion size and is now in the to finish pile waiting with the other to finish projects.

The end is near for this one

So what was I going to do with all this yarn that I've got left? So I decided to make some granny squares and that has become another ongoing granny square project.

More and more granny squares

And then it was easter husband and girls off again, the weather was typically bad for easter weekend, well actually it was terrible!!!!! We couldn't get out, the girls easter egg hunt which we normally do on easter Sunday took place on Tuesday just before the rain started again.

But I didn't waste my time I started knit a cardigan, something that I haven't done in along time, well the last time I knitted a cardigan about FIVE YEARS AGO and it was for my youngest daughter who was a baby at the time, she isn't now! Five and a monster.

This is the start of

What attracted me to the pattern was that it was knitted from the top down and in one piece which seemed more appealing to me, hardly any sewing and no knitting of separate pieces. Started off on straight needles, but had to change to circular needles. Until recently I've not been a fan of circulars, I've always considered them as the most evil things ever invented, that was until this project and now I can say I've been converted to love them and they are now the best things ever invented.

Circulars my new best friend!

I will talk about this project in another post, because I think I've written enough for now and I want to start thinking about composing my next post May Making Madness!

Banana bread Saturday

Ok it doesn't look like bake off standards, but it is banana bread  and it will get eaten in this house.   Oh!  And some knitting which ...
